After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG pursuant to their CIA, Harnett Healthcare Group, LLC d/b/a Emerald Health & Rehab Center (Emerald), Lillington, North Carolina, agreed to pay $65,072.49 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that Emerald submitted claims for services provided by an unlicensed nurse. Single damages were calculated as the full salary and benefits paid to the individual during the period they worked without a valid license.
